Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using OpenSlate (the website at openslate.tech, the web app, our emails and notifications, and our social accounts — together, the "Service") you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. What the Service is
OpenSlate is an informational and entertainment service. It publishes observations about publicly posted sportsbook prices for player props: which prices differ from a reference book's prices, by how much, and whether that difference is still present at the last scan. The same content is published to every reader of a given plan. The Service is not a sportsbook: it does not accept, place or facilitate wagers, does not hold funds, does not connect to any sportsbook account, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or licensed by DraftKings, Pinnacle or any other sportsbook. Book names are used to identify the source of a price.
3. Eligibility and your responsibilities
You must be at least 21 years old and able to form a binding contract. Sports betting is legal in some jurisdictions and not in others, and the Service is not an offer to wager anywhere. You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with the law where you are, including any age, licensing or wagering restrictions, and for any decision you make with information from the Service.
4. Plans, billing and cancellation
- Free: the free features described on the pricing page.
- Pro: $19.99 per month or $149 per year (USD, plus any applicable tax), billed in advance by our payment processor, Whop, which is the merchant of record. Pro includes the features described on the pricing page.
- Trial: new Pro subscribers may receive a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the plan you chose starts and is charged at the end of the trial.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of any price change for existing subscribers.
- Cancellation: cancel any time from your account (Account → Manage billing). Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds: payments are handled by Whop and are non-refundable except under Whop's own policies or where the law requires. If something is wrong, email founder@openslate.tech and we'll do what we can.
- We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue Pro, we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
5. No betting advice
Nothing in the Service is betting, financial, legal or tax advice, a recommendation to place any wager, or a statement that any wager, pick or strategy is suitable for you or likely to win. We don't know your circumstances and we don't provide individualised advice — including by email, Discord, X or direct message. You alone decide whether and how to bet, and you accept that sports betting involves risk of loss.
6. No performance claims
OpenSlate does not publish win rates, returns, profits or graded results for the picks it shows. Rules are tested against historical prices and measured forward internally; a rule's status in the strategy registry describes that process, not an outcome. If we ever publish performance figures, they will cover the complete period from a stated start date, including losses, with their sample size. Past results do not predict future results. Nothing in the Service shows that any pick, rule or tool is profitable.
7. Prices and data
Prices shown are the Service's own reads of publicly posted odds as of the time shown. They are not a live feed, may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and a sportsbook may have changed or removed a price at any time. Always check the sportsbook itself.
8. Your use of the Service
Keep your account to yourself; sign-in links are personal. Don't resell, republish or redistribute Pro content, scrape the Service, attempt to breach its security, use it to facilitate unlawful wagering, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend accounts that do.
9. Responsible gambling
If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER (US). If you want to stop seeing the Service, delete your account at any time (Account → Delete my account) and we will remove your data.
10. Intellectual property
The Service's content, methodology text and design belong to OpenSlate. Sportsbook names and marks belong to their owners.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness and timeliness. Emails and notifications can be delayed or not delivered. Odds data and the systems we rely on can be wrong or unavailable.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenSlate and its owners, officers and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including any wagering losses, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify OpenSlate against claims arising from your wagering decisions, your breach of these Terms, your use of the Service where it is unlawful, or your misuse of the Service.
14. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be emailed to account holders and shown here with a new version date; continued use after the effective date means acceptance.
16. Governing law
[Governing law, venue and the operating legal entity to be set on attorney review.] Before any formal proceeding, contact founder@openslate.tech and try to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days.
